Lime is a hybrid citrus fruit, which is typically round, lime green, 3–6 centimetres (1.2–2.4 in) in diameter and contains acidic juice vessels. The health benefits of lime include weight loss, skin care, eye care, improved digestion, respiratory disorders, urinary disorders and relief from constipation.
Plum is about the size of an average sized tomato, measuring about 5-6 cm in diameter and weigh about 50-70 g. It has central umbilicated depression at the stem end. Internally, its pulp is juicy and succulent. Plums have a sweet and tart taste with a pleasant aroma. Plums are low in calories (46 calories per 100 g) and contain no saturated fats; however, they hold numerous health promoting compounds, antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.
Sapodilla also known as chikoo is another popular tropical fruit. It composes of soft, easily digestible pulp made of simple sugars like fructose and sucrose. The fruit has brown, sandy, kiwifruit-like outer surface but without the fuzziness. Unripe fruits possess white, hard, inedible pulp that secretes sticky latex containing toxic substance saponin. This milky latex gradually disappears, and its white flesh turns brown as the fruit ripe. Once ripen, it becomes soft, acquires a sweet taste and smooth or grainy texture with slight musky flavor.
Apricots are those beautifully orange colored fruits full of beta-carotene and fiber that are one of the first signs of summer. The flesh is usually firm and not very juicy. Its taste can range from sweet to tart. The single seed is enclosed in a hard, stony shell, often called a “stone”, with a grainy, smooth texture except for three ridges running down one side.
